MIKE Co MCRD Family Day 01.06.22
We had an anonymous donor ask to PAY FOR A MINI IN FULL so a deserving family could have a mini session that may not know I offer them or be able to afford it at this time. I saw one Marine rendering a salute to two other gentlemen, for a photo, and I just knew that THAT was the family that was going to get the free session. And boy, they were surely deserving and kind. This new Marine was rendering a salute to his grandfather and uncle who both served.
700+ close-up photos taken on family day today here.
I am SO glad to have been able to attend Mike Company on Family Day and Graduation Day! Blessing others, by capturing these important memories, is my favorite part of photographing families.

Many people confuse Memorial Day and Veterans Day, but each honors a different kind of sacrifice. In this post, San Diego military funeral photographer and U.S. Navy veteran Morgan Liberatore shares the important distinction between the two holidays, explores their historical roots, and reflects on what Memorial Day truly means. With local landmarks like Fort Rosecrans and Mt. Soledad woven into the story, this post invites readers to pause, remember, and honor those who gave everything.
