Military Headshots | NJROTC Temecula Cadet Matheson | San Diego, CA
Why can’t you find a San Diego Studio Photographer that offers Military Headshots?
In 8 years of military service, my only "headshot" was during boot camp - my silly self never purchased it! Why don't studio photographers offer this? Especially in a military-heavy city like San Diego, why don't more photographers offer posed studio portraits with flags in the background? How does a service member get ahold of new portraits, anyways? PAO? Fleet and Family? MCCS? MWR?
It's interesting to see how often professional studio photographers post in-search-of asking for someone who can accommodate an inquiry they received for such a portrait.
I am on a mission to make these more common and to -eventually- get my uniform back on for one last official photo.
In the meantime, let's normalize these portraiture opportunities to capture your military career before it's only a memory and you want to grow a retirement beard.
In honor of my mission, I am sharing some images that Cadet Matheson picked out from his recent portrait session. This Junior at Chaparral High School NJROTC in Temecula is on his way to a fantastic career in the Navy.
If you want military headshots like these or event coverage, let me know right here!
In honor of this NJROTC Cadet, Here is an article published online about his exciting NJROTC career - like when he got to meet the Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro in 2021.
“NJROTC Cadet Aaron Matheson said the who's who of high-ranking naval leaders was impressive and all were very welcoming — "almost everyone I met had an amazing story to tell."

This November, I joined twelve other veterans right here in East County San Diego to receive a Quilt of Valor during a special luncheon at Foothills United Methodist Church in La Mesa. I will share with you what the Quilts of Valor Foundation is, how I have personally been “touched by war,” the story of my shipmate whose death changed my path, and how I now get to serve other military families; by telling their stories through photography and journaling.
