Five reasons why you need to schedule an extended family photo session

As we all know, life moves quickly. It's time to get the family together.

We’re busy keeping up with work, family and other commitments. But it’s not just the pace of life that is increasing—it’s also the distance between us as families. The older we get, the more your family is growing and your siblings (or yourself) more to other cities, states, and even countries.

This is why it is so important to invest in the little things that matter most. Perhaps none is more important than preserving your family albums full of photos of loved ones and getting to spend time together. As a mother myself, I can’t encourage you enough to prioritize extended family portraits. Years from now you will be so very grateful that you took the time to get everyone together for a large family session. It's more than worth the effort and I guarantee you'll love every minute of it!

Here are five reasons you need to schedule an extended family photo session:

1: Get The Family Together - Vacation?!

Vacation? Why not! When is the last time you got the family together? I mean the entire family. So and so’s wedding 4 years ago? Of course, there are health complications that can get in the way and the extensive complications Covid threw at us all for a loop ands we missed out on important milestones. If you need an excuse to get everyone together, here it is! Plus, no one wants to be left out of the family portraits, so they’re more inclined to make the trip and celebrate what matters most.

2. All-in-one Session

Lets be real, it would be more expensive for each of your siblings or cousins to schedule photo sessions with photographers in their area and then pick prints to send to grandparents. Who even knows if they would look great on the wall together or clash due to photographers style. By booking a photographer for everyone, each individual family can pitch in for the cost and save money! And then we can rest assured the photos would look so good on the wall.

3: Doubles as a Holiday Gift!

I love giving people something that they can actually use. When it comes to photography, I think its the perfect gift! You are basically giving someone memories that they will have forever. I would much rather receive an album filled with pictures from our family vacation and extended family photo session at the Hotel Del in Coronado than another pair of earrings or scarf that will sit on a shelf.

4: Capture Milestones

As I said, Covid threw at us all for a loop ands we missed out on important milestones for our siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. Sister had a baby on the east coast and she’s about to turn one? Opps. The “remember when” moments of looking at photo albums years from now will be worth the family outfit planning and getting ready with everyone. No need to wait until another niece or nephew are getting married to see everyone again, just plan a vacation together instead.

5: Create Heirloom Mementos and Gifts

Growing up I remember going to my best friends grand parents house and seeing soooo many photos on a wall. They had a custom family tree in photo form! One large family portrait and then individual photos below organized into families. That is my dream photo wall!

Photo Album books are one of the most common most essential heirloom gifts. They provide an added dimension to photos that can't be captured using classic prints. Apart from family photo books, you can also make photo books for your friends and family and send out holiday post cards to everyone.

Ending notes.

Family is everything.

We know it; you know it. And we're here to help you capture those moments
